DAY 100!!!

This is day 100!!! The final day of the 2024 AASI Rider Rally at Big Sky Montana. Rick went out with the “Carving Crew” (a few guys on hard boots and race boards to lay some trenches. In the afternoon the Challenger lift opened for the first time in the week, so even more good snow was to be found! SnowProfessor Rick is back! DAY 99

This is day 99. Day four of the 2024 AASI Rider Rally at Big Sky Montana. Rick was in the “Steeps” group. We headed to the top of the mountain and found some good snow and even a little great snow! DAY 98

DAY 97

This is day 97. Day two of the 2024 AASI Rider Rally at Big Sky Montana. It was warm and slushy, but it did start snowing in the afternoon. Rick was in the “Spicey” group again, working on switch riding, steeps and some spinning in the park. SnowProfessor Rick is back! Day 96

This is day 96. Day one of the 2024 AASI Rider Rally at Big Sky Montana. It was warm and snow was sparse. Rick was in the “Spicey” group and conditions were VERY variable and visibility was VERY variable. SnowProfessor Rick is back! Day 95

This is day 95. Rick’s last day in Colorado for the season. He planned on hiking Peaks 6 & 8 for some cardio, but his body wasn’t having it. SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video.

Day 94

Day 93

Day 92

On a sunny Colorado spring day Rick did the "Longest Run at Breckenridge." From the tip top of peak 8 all the way into town, 3,410-ish vertical feet.

Day 91

Days 89 & 90

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is days 89 & 90, cold and WINDY with some bad snow and some pretty decent snow at Breckenridge, Colorado.

Day 88

This is day 88, the family is heading home and Rick is beat from a long week of contesting. Today is a one run day through the pipe and home in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Day 87

Rick was racing boardercross against 12 other 40 to 49 year olds (some of them serious BXers) and Spencer was racing slalom. Being the final day of competition, Overall winners were also announced based on points gained from each event place…

Day 86

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is day 86, competition day four of USASA Nationals. Rick was racing slalom against 1 other 40 to 49 year old and Spencer was racing GS. The whole extended family came to Copper Mountain to watch and ride.

Day 85

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is day 85, competition day three of USASA Nationals. Rick was racing giant slalom against 4 other 40 to 49 year olds and Spencer got a rest day.

Day 84

Day 81

Day 80

Days 72 through 75

Started with a practice night at Hyland, and ended with two days of competitions at Buck Hill. The final 25+ days will be out west…

Days 69 through 71

Days 67 & 68

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is days 67 & 68. This was the big Minnesota AASI event at Afton Alps. Rick ran the Level 3 Exam and was working all day both Saturday and Sunday. For the first time this year he didn't film a run for one of the days.

Days 61 through 66

Days 51, 52 & 53

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is days 51, 52 & 53; the Buck Hill Boardercross Bonanza! Rick and his son Spencer were at Buck Hill three days in a row for boardercross races.

Day 50

This was supposed to be a normal Thursday double header, morning Women's Board lesson and evening instructor clinic. But rain (in February, in Minnesota) had other plans...

Day 49

This is day 49, Tuesday February 6th, the high school sections ski race! Rick had a long day a Buck Hill in the slush (it was over 50 degrees, again). After the race was done (team didn't make it to state) he headed to Hyland for his college board class.

Days 47 & 48

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is days 47 & 48. Day 47 was a long day at Afton Alps for an AASI Level 1 exam. Day 48 was the another Monday night instructor clinic at Hyland Hills.

Days 45 & 46

Day 45 was a quick high school snowboard halfpipe contest for Rick's son at Buck Hill. Day 46 was the second USASA slalom & GS race of the season at Buck Hill. Both Rick and his son won/lost their respective age groups!

Days 43 & 44

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is days 43 & 44. Day 43 was the last conference ski race for his daughter at Buck hill. Day 44 was another double header Thursday. It was hot and slushy!

Days 41 & 42

Day 41 was another Monday night instructor clinic (in the Minnesota January heat). Day 42 was another College Board class where we rode park the whole night.

Days 38, 39 & 40

Day 38 was another high school ski race at Buck Hill. Days 39 & 40 were the first (delayed by the weather) USASA slopestyle contests of the season at Buck Hill.

Day 37

Rick had his normal Thursday double header, morning Women's Board lesson and evening instructor clinic. It was warm, foggy and wet, but Rick did get his first runs in the park of the season in the evening.

Days 34, 35 & 36

This is days 34, 35 & 36. 34 was a Monday night Clinic ay Hyland and 35 was teaching college students at Hyland Hills. 36 was at Buck Hill to watch my daughter's High School ski racing the fog.

Day 33

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is day 33. Rick's and his wife were heading to a SkiJammers instructor party and Hyland was kindof on the way. So it was another one run day... in JEANS!

Day 32

Rick's wife was coming home from a trip and Hyland Hills is right on the way to the airport. So Rick got one run in before picking her up. It was 9 degrees and Rick was in sweat pants...

Day 31

Days 29 & 30

Day 29 was the first College Board class at Hyland Hills and day 30 was another high school ski race. This time Rick got to stand at the bottom the whole time as the finish line ref.

Day 28

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is day 28, back at Hyland for a Monday night clinic. It was a -15 wind chill but we still had 9 attendees shredding!

Day 27

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is day 27, Rick on SKIS helping with coarse maintenance (slipping out ruts) for his daughters high school ski race at Wild Mountain.

Days 23, 24, 25 & 26

This is days 23, 24, 25 & 26. 23 was a Monday night Clinic ay Hyland and 24 was a Buck Hill clinic that I dropped in on. 25 was at Buck Hill to watch my daughter's first High School ski race. And day 26 was teaching a morning class and an evening clinic.

Days 20, 21 & 22

Day 19

Day 18

Days 16 & 17

SnowProfessor Rick is back! And challenging himself to get 100 days of riding in this season while documenting each day in a short video. This is days 16 and 17. Both days were one runners in not great conditions while doing errands.

Day 15

This is an out of sequence 100 Days Challenge video. Rick became all that he is against and rode in jeans with no gloves, helmet or goggles. We were heading to a family dinner and Hyland Hills was in the area, so I took 1 run to get another day in. All told 6 minutes and 51 seconds from car door to car door.
