Burton The White Collection Smalls: Best Boy’s Snowboards
The White Collection Smalls is the old-school, cambered snowboard of the boy’s Burton lineup. With traditional camber, The White Collection Smalls is most suited to carving, halfpipe and bigger jumps. Camber means the snowboard has a convex shape (the board lifts up below the feet and the tip and tail curve down to touch the snow, like a rainbow). This gives the snowboard better edge-hold on ice and more spring/pop. It’s a true twin shape, so it rides just as well forwards or backwards — fun for halfpipe, jumps and just goofing around the mountain.
Burton’s The White Collection Smalls is another good choice for an all-mountain, do everything snowboard–especially if riding jumps and halfpipe is of special interest. It comes in 5 sizes, fitting kids between ~65-115 pounds. It will work for a beginner, but may be a bit harder to maneuver than something like the Burton Custom Smalls.

What size snowboard to buy?
Select the snowboard size based on your weight according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. If you are between sizes, going with the smaller size can be easier to learn on. Snowboarders can often ride more than one size of the same snowboard.
